Being offered is a sterling silver Victorian pillbox manufactured by La Pierre Silver. It has a rich and ornate exterior with a Repousse style of blown (raised) flowers — both on the body and lid. In addition to being functional (used to carry pills), they were also a sign of status and the more ornate ones were considered a higher level. This pillbox with its Rocco style exterior must have belonged to someone of aristocratic origin.
