Being offered is a sterling silver hand mirror in the “Repousse” pattern by S. Kirk and Sons. Designed and manufactured in the late nineteenth century, “Repousse” soon became the most popular pattern of the company. The pattern is synonymous with the Kirk name and is their most famous design. Tea sets, candlesticks, platters and other objet d’art with this motif. Raised flowers and leaves are juxtaposed against a dark matte finish giving them a three dimensional appearance that is lifelike. A beautiful piece for one’s vanity table or even as a decorative piece in a powder room.
