Sterling Silver Candlesticks
Being offered is a pair of sterling silver candlesticks by Gorham Silversmiths of Providence, Rhode Island. Designed & manufactured at the height of WWII, they have a simple design with no ornamentation. During the war silver pieces were not fancy or ostentatious but rather simple, reflecting the seriousness of the time. These candlesticks have a clean look with a tapered shape and ridges around the base and just under the pedestal. A classic look that is still beautiful today as it was sixty five plus years ago!
